Let me start off by saying this was the worst Halloween ever because the weather was just terrible!
It started off good...We spent the afternoon carving out our jack-o-lantern. I cut the top off the pumpkin and let Sarah dig out the pumpkin guts, as we like to call it. Then when she was done, I went to work and carved out Frankie.

Then as it started getting dark out, we got ready for the big night. We thought we were going to have a nice night, because it had been nice through out the day. A little windy but nice.
So Sarah put her costume on. She wanted to be a girl from the 50's. I had made her a poodle skirt and a petticoat to go under it. She loved her costume because "it was so twirly!"

So here she is in her costume, can't see the poodle but he is there some where under the folds of fabric. Notice the drops of rain there on the ground...that is only a hint of what was to come.
We went on our merry way collecting candies, after she put on her coat. We went to the 5 houses on our street that were actually giving out candy, which I find to be very sad.
We were about a block away when the wind kicked up and the rain started pouring down...I mean it was pouring down, like someone took a bucket and dumped it on us. I had all I could do to hold the umbrella down over her and hold onto my hood to keep it from blowing away.
We walked as fast as we could to where our community mailbox area was for shelter. I pulled out my cell phone and called my husband to come pick us up. I had no idea how long we were going to be stuck there.
He came to get us and we got home took off our wet clothes...we could literally wring them out, that's how wet they were. I stuck them all in the dryer and we put on some pj's and had hot chocolate while passing out candy to the brave souls that came to our door in that weather.
Just going to share one last picture with you...Here is our Frankie the Jack-o-Lantern in all his glory.
